There was not a dry eye in the house when the father daughter dance ended. I looked over to Kyra's mom, to Cameron, to all the guests, and everyone had the same sweet look on their face. Kyra's dad prefaced their dance by telling us he had almost backed out of doing it, until he told his wife, Christine, his plans. Once he did that, he was in too deep, so he had to follow through. While the song I Loved Her First is a fairly common song chosen for the dance, Don went above and beyond by recording himself singing it. He may not be a professional, but he held his own behind the mic. It was heartfelt, sentimental, and a moment the two will never forget -a moment I will never forget. Being a boy mama myself, it is typically the mother son dance that gets me, but I had to pull back from my camera a few times to wipe the tears away, so I could continue to shoot.
This was one of many special moments that stood out to me throughout the day! The wedding was beautiful, the love was palpable, and everyone was elated for the couple, but overall, there was just a sense of pure joy that could be felt all through Fort Concho. Cameron is definitely the softer, quieter of the two, and Kyra has such an infectious personality that sets the tone in every room she walks into. The dynamic these two share is rare and shows an unbelievably fun sense of friendship between them, but their love for one another is what really shines. I have no doubts they have some of the most joyful days ahead of them, and their wedding day was the perfect reflection of the rest of their lives.
Kyra and Cameron, I could not have had a better time at your wedding. You were both elated to be getting married to one another. You were warm and welcoming to every guest there. And you showed such an example of a fairytale love story. I can't thank you enough for trusting me with the biggest day of your life up to this point, and I hope you love the pictures as much as I do.
